We have finally received the great news that funding has been secured for progressing the Hawkesbury Nepean River System Coastal Management program (CMP) into Stage 2.
The six Councils with management responsibilities for the Hawkesbury estuary and its catchment, have successful secured $317,000 in funds to develop Stage 2 of the Hawkesbury Nepean River System CMP. Stage 2 of the program involves the completion of a number of technical studies addressing knowledge gaps and to better understand riverbank condition, tidal and flooding impacts, beach erosion in Pittwater and to improve overall knowledge of how the river system works from a physical and ecological point of view.
The funding also supports a Project Coordinator position who will provide administrative support, project management, CMP promotion and stakeholder communication and engagement over the next two years and is currently being advertised.
