Stage 3 Update: Get Involved!

Get involved in Stage 3 of the Hawkesbury-Nepean River System Coastal Management Program!

We're inviting you to help shape the future management of the Hawkesbury-Nepean River System. As part of Stage 3 of our Coastal Management Program, we’re gathering community input to ensure the River's future is in safe hands. The engagement period will run from Monday 16th September to Sunday 24th November 2024.

How Can You Get Involved?

Our Online Engagement Portal can be accessed via our website. On the portal, you can:

Give your feedback: Learn about the management actions proposed by our project team and provide your feedback
Share your ideas: Zoom into your area of interest and provide ideas and feedback about the local issues that matter to you
Explore issues big and small: See proposed management actions from right across the Hawkesbury-Nepean River System

The Hawkesbury Nepean River System Coastal Management Program

The Hawkesbury Nepean River System Coastal Management Program (CMP or HNRS CMP) is being developed by six councils that border the tidal section of the Hawkesbury River estuary with support from the NSW Government. The CMP sets the long-term strategy for the coordinated management of the HNRS with a focus on achieving the objects of the NSW Coastal Management Act (2016). The CMP will primarily focus on the coastal management areas within the tidal section stretching over 145 km of the Hawkesbury river from Broken Bay up to Yarramundi near Richmond. The CMP also covers the waterways of Pittwater and Brisbane Water which converge with the Lower Hawkesbury River at Broken Bay.
